Only had one day to see Copenhagen, so of course we needed to see the colorful houses and canel on Nyhaven. Luckily we stumbled upon Hyttefadet. The staff were super accommodating and friendly. The food and drinks were excellent. I can't be sure but I think we lucked out and chose the best place on the block.
I went there for the stegt flæsk which is one of the Danish national dishes…Basically fried pork…where can you go wrong? It was a little pricey because it was in the tourist part of town. But the dish tasted nice and the staff was quite friendly. The “best” part was that they surprised us with the offer of a fullness guarantee on that dish. They’ll keep bringing you more until you’re full. Which made it a bargain. In truth I was satisfied after one plate full. But after a second serving I was filled to the gills. It really is a quite picturesque part of town and worth going.
Had an awesome dinner on a Wednesday evening on 1st April 2026. The restaurant was full but by sure luck we only had to wait for 10mins and the outside staffs were ever so helpful as we wanted to be seated inside. We were served by a tall female staff forgot to ask her name as she gave suggestions for dinner and drinks. Later on we were served by Nicholas he is an amazing asset to the restaurant! He came by to check on us and also chatted plus gave us recommendations to enjoy Copenhagen. Now for the food we had the 2 dish set, a starter and main! Both combos were amazing the steak, cod fish and starters we tried all except for the beef tartar. Drinks were on point too, so come by and have a lovely dinner with friends, family, a nice romantic date or even dining solo as you won’t be left alone much in there. Thanks again to everyone that made our dining experience a lovely one and good luck.
First time in Copenhagen. This was the second restaurant we tried. Atmosphere was a vibe, food was delicious and came out hot. Ordered the traditional pork belly and it was good. Had the danish cake, was ok, coconut topping made the cake slice too sweet for my liking but the ice cream scoop that came with it went very well with it. Overall would recommend as food is good and it’s by Nyhavn canal.
This restaurant is cosy and feels very homely, right by the canal, with inspired decor. I ordered the Danish meatballs, which were delicious, all the flavours were very balanced and mixed well and it was nice to try traditional Danish food, 5* as I wouldn’t change a thing. My boyfriend ordered the National Dish, and finished it all. Everything was much higher than our already high expectations. I would definitely recommend this to anyone travelling in Copenhagen!
