Wow, wow, wow!!! Saji is hands down the best Asian food I’ve had in Copenhagen. The restaurant is so cozy, and every single dish we tried was amazing. Everything was incredibly flavorful with just the right amount of spice. I loved it so much, and it’s a place I’ll keep recommending to anyone looking for great Indonesian food in Copenhagen.
I got the last reservation of the day and the place was completely packed on a Saturday night. So I highly recommend getting reservations. I decided to get the 7 course meal with the drink pairing. Whole meal lasted around 2 hours and the pacing of the food and drinks was great. There was just not a single dish I didn't like. I think my favorite probably was either the shrimp dumplings or the chicken wings. And to top it off, the coconut dessert was a great way to end the meal. I would be recommending this place to everyone who travel to Copenhagen!
I’ve been to Saji on almost every visit to Copenhagen, but last night, alone and five minutes away, I decided to give them a call and hope for the best. Thankfully, they were able to accommodate me at the bar. The moment I sat down, I felt right at home. Every member of the team makes you feel like family. I had the tasting menu, and each dish that came out was thoughtful, absolutely delicious, full of flavour and texture, and beautifully presented. I have a few favourites I always go back for, like the ceviche and chicken wings. This time, they also had a barbecued fish of the day, so perfectly cooked and seasoned, with condiments that were such a lovely surprise. At one point, the chef-owner topped up my glass of wine when he saw I was dining alone and said, “It’s raining, don’t go yet.” It made me feel so genuinely taken care of. And when I mentioned I was from Singapore, high fives were aplenty. Solo dining can sometimes feel daunting, but at Saji, I had the best time. The music is great, the room is warm, and my favourite seats are definitely by the kitchen, where you can watch all the action that goes on. Saji is such a gem in Copenhagen, and easily some of the best Indonesian cuisine I’ve had outside of Indonesia. Ps, don’t leave without having dessert.
First day in copenhagen, without a reserved table for a Friday night - this place was nice to accommodate us for 1.5 hours provided we got the tasting menu. And it was divine! The tasting menu consisted of 7 dishes - starters, main, and dessert. All varied - fish, meat, vegetables - beautifully presented and delicious. The staff were very busy, but managed to engage with the customers and keep a smile on their face. Definitely recommend this place!
Ahhh yes yes yes! One of the best meals I’ve had in a really long time. Go and opt for the tasting menu, you will not regret it. Do not second guess, just go. So many interesting dishes, all packed with flavour. The place itself is a bit hidden away and unassuming from the outside, but what a wonderful world that waits you inside. In addition, great service. I’ll remember the grilled hiramasa for a long time! As well as the deer rendang. Just really great plates of food. Thank you guys!
