At a glance
Restaurant Uformel, located at Studiestræde 69 in Copenhagen, offers a unique dining experience that balances a laid-back atmosphere with high culinary standards. As the more relaxed counterpart to its more formal sibling, Uformel breaks away from traditional Michelin-style dining with its vibrant environment and inviting ambiance.
Situated just a short walk from Rådhuspladsen, the restaurant is ideally positioned for diners looking to enjoy a meal as part of their evening in the city. The menu showcases a blend of classic and east Asian-inspired flavors, bringing together diverse ingredients such as soy, seaweed, cheese, and sweetbread. Uformel encourages diners to explore its menu with the option of a five-course meal or selecting multiple dishes à la carte, typically recommending four to six dishes per person to experience the full range of flavors.
While the restaurant embodies a faster-paced dining experience, it does not compromise on the quality of its dishes. Each plate is meticulously prepared, ensuring that every flavor stands out. The wine selection is equally curated, ranging from classic choices to more distinctive natural wines, available both by the bottle and by the glass. The emphasis on quality is clear, and the restaurant maintains a close relationship with its wine producers, allowing guests to taste the essence of these collaborations in each sip.
The interior of Uformel reflects its culinary philosophy, combining elements of wood, textile, and steel to create a space that is both raw and refined. It is a place for both everyday indulgence and celebratory gatherings, where the vibe remains informal yet exudes a sense of youthful elegance. Restaurant Uformel is perfect for those looking to enjoy a fun and dynamic dining experience that takes food seriously, but never in a pretentious way.
Reviews
Went there twice during my stay in Copenhagen, once with my wife and once with my best friend for his birthday. Both times were incredible, service was on point, food was the best I had during my stay, and the dessert was probably the best dessert I ever had in a restaurant, absolutely incredible ! Recommend 100x and will definitely come back.
Visited in December 2025. We had the set menu and enjoyed every dish. The fish starter and the beef tartare were my favourites, but the other dishes were good too. The food quantity and the service were great, and so were the drinks options. Overall, I was very happy with my visit and I would both like to come back and to try the other restaurants from the Formel B family.
The food was great. We ordered roasted mallard and toasted sweetbread, and both was extremely delicious, portions are a bit small. And the desert Yuzucréme with crispy cocoa and vanilla ice should also be tried
