The Paul

The British chef, book author and photographer Paul Cunningham came to Denmark in 1994, together with his Danish-born wife. After successful years working as Chef de cuisine in places like Coquus, he opened his first own restaurant “The Paul” in 2003, situated in the beautiful glass pavilion Glassalen in the lush Tivoli Gardens.

“The Paul” has been awarded with one Michelin star and serves modern, Danish and European cuisine with lots of fresh seafood ingredients; innovatively composed by the creative chef and inspired from his many travels around the world. The menu changes every 14 days and there are two set menus to choose from, for lunch and dinner and a short lunch menu.

The tasting menu gives you the opportunity to try smaller portions of truly delicious dishes, like pineapple ravioli, roasted foie gras, Dover sole, chanterelles, oysters, lobsters, ice cream of sweet cicely…

If you are up for a special evening and are willing to pay for it, “The Paul” has a Chef’s Table with 8 seats in front of the kitchen, which can be booked for the 20 000 DKK. A new menu is composed exclusively for the Chef’s Table every evening, and it sets you off on a delicious food journey with champagne, cocktails and fish appetizers, continuing through different dishes of seafood, poultry, vegetables, meat and aged cheeses; each course accompanied with excellent wine, to create an experience you won’t forget in a long time. The dinner is rounded off with sweets, coffee, tea and liquors in the restaurant’s lounge.

For private dining, there is a small part of the restaurant secluded from the other guests, where you can open up the door to the terrace outside for a great view of the garden.

“The Paul” accepts most credit cards and the restaurant area is non-smoking.
