Sparks Wood-fired Restaurant and Bar is a first-class American steakhouse in the trendy neighborhood of Gothersgade.Taking its inspiration from the highest-class steakhouses you might see in New York, Sparks features plush sofas, clean, modern design, American art and images on the walls, inviting music and creative lighting. The menu is modern American cuisine, which is in itself inspired by dishes and cultures from around the world.
In the open kitchen, the chefs cook most of the food on a wood-fired grill which gives steak, fish and shellfish a distinctive and delicious flavor.
Dive straight into the main courses with a 225 gram rib eye steak costing DKK 215, or a classic Surf and Turf with beef tenderloin and Norwegian lobster with sautéed mushrooms and blueberries. For a side order, try the corn on the cob that has a magnificent taste when grilled on the wood fire (DKK 35.) There are cheeses and desserts including the American classic Key Lime Pie (DKK 65.)
There are a number of wines on offer from France, Italy and of course America.
From 10:30pm at the weekends, Sparks undergoes a transformation. The DJ turns the music up, the lights are dimmed, and it's time to order some drinks, chat with friends and get your groove on to the smooth boss nova sounds.
The long counter bar serves expertly mixed cocktails, from classics like the Dry Martini to Cosmopolitans and Mojitos, all made from the finest spirits, liquors and fresh ingredients.
