The successful Morten Bech Køster is author of several books about European gourmet cuisine and the man behind the French top restaurant “No 1” in Århusgade 1, famous for its attentive service and intimate ambience – and excellent food!
You don’t need to go to France to eat fine French; the famous chef has created a menu based on the traditional French cuisine and made it a bit more interesting with innovative dishes like the delicious 'Mac Køster' which is the gourmet version of a hamburger - Pan-fried foie gras on foccacia bread with balsamic fried figs.
The restaurant offers a daily course for 145 DKK which can be ordered as take away and “No 1” is known for its generous picnic baskets with food and wine for 265 DKK which you need to order the day before.
Exclusive theme nights organized by Morten Bech Køster and his team, have become popular in the Copenhagen night life; like the gentlemen evenings for men only, with the classic Beef Béarnaise on the menu and an interesting person or lecturer invited to attend – or theatre and concerts evenings with a dinner created and served in connection with the certain show, like the Madonna concert or plays at the Østre Gasværk Teater.
No 1 has a private dining room called Chambre Separée, which is possible to reserve for 20-30 guests.
