Come to Mad & Kaffe if you’re interested in rude and disruptive service, requests to tip 20%, and a stuffy and hot atmosphere with improper circulation. - Upon sitting down, our server passed us 3 menus (2 English and 1 Danish) for a four person reservation. They proceeded to rudely try to snatch the menus away, proclaiming “You need to order NOW, the kitchen closes in 5 minutes. You cannot have more time.” - They charge 30 kroner for one pitcher of tap water, and additional 30 kroner for additional pitchers. They proclaim this is for donating to the Red Cross. You can fill your own cup in the bathroom for free, but the unpleasant aroma will most likely deter you from this approach. - When looking for a filter coffee refill, we tried to flag down 2 separate servers who looked past us and pretended as if we don’t exist. We had to get up and go to the front to request the coffee refill. - We had to get up once again in order to request the cheque. Not once were we proactively checked upon, despite the restaurant being 80% empty, with less than 10 occupied tables. When paying, the machine prompted TIP OPTIONS (in Denmark!) ranging from 5% to 20%. With this incredibly poor level of service, Mad & Kaffe should be ashamed of themselves for tip prompting, and as high as 20%, in a country where this is certainly not the cultural norm. If anything, with this type of service, a 20% refund is much more well deserved. I’d also add that if they truly cared about the Red Cross, maybe they should ask for donations to the Red Cross at payment time instead of tip prompting. That would show a genuine and true charitable spirit.

Came here for brunch as a solo diner and managed to grab a seat outside, which I didn’t mind at all since it was super busy inside. The staff were really friendly and attentive throughout. I ordered an americano with oat milk and the avocado open sandwich, and honestly, it was great value for money. The rye bread was piled high with toppings, and it was easily the best thing I ate in Copenhagen — absolutely delicious. I paid around £15 (138 DKK), which felt totally reasonable considering the quality, portion size, and the fact that it’s such a popular, trendy spot. I’d definitely come back if I return to Copenhagen!

One of the most famous brunch in Copenhagen🇩🇰🍳 Mad & Kaffe definitely lives up to the hype. The concept is so fun, you get a little menu and tick off 3, 5, or 7 items to build your own board📝 It’s the perfect way to try a bit of everything. We sat outside in the sun and honestly, it was the highlight of the trip☀️☕️ Fair warning: the queue gets massive, so either show up early or make a reservation! It’s worth the wait for the food alone.🥐🥑

Mad & Kaffe is one of the most unique places I have been to for brunch! The ordering system is so efficient & I love that everything is fully customisable. I couldn’t fault any of the food that we ordered - it was so delicious! The drink selection is also very good. I ordered a matcha & one of their house-made lemonades & both were fantastic. I definitely recommend booking a table to avoid long waiting times. I will definitely be back!

Mad Coffee in Copenhagen is absolutely worth the hype. Yes, we had to wait about an hour in the queue, but the food more than made up for it. The concept of serving different items on small plates is such a great idea from sausage to salmon, everything felt thoughtfully presented and easy to enjoy in smaller portions. The bread was especially amazing. Overall, a fantastic experience with truly delicious food. I would definitely visit again.
