Copenhagen: Express Walk with a Local in 60 minutes
3 ReviewsDiscover the charm of Copenhagen from an insider’s perspective in a 60-minute walk with a Local. Explore its landmarks, enjoy the vibrant culture, and learn about its rich history.
“1.th” is not an ordinary restaurant. In fact, it is not a restaurant at all, but a luxury flat situated on the first floor, to the right, in the centre of Copenhagen.
Six years ago, Mette Sia Martinussen came up with the idea about private dinner parties in an intimate and personal setting for a small group of guests, and the evenings quickly became a success. Nowadays, “1.th” is a regular happening and Anita Klemensen is the one in charge.
It works like this: You call and make a reservation. A few days later, you’ll receive an invitation and information about where and when the dinner will take place, together with the payment details for the 1250 DKK, which have to be paid in advance.
When the day of the dinner arrives, you arrive to “1.th” at 6.30 pm.
The friendly hostess opens the door and serves you and the other guests a welcome drink and gives you time to mingle or just getting used to this unusual but lovely idea for an evening dinner.
The beautiful flat is spacious with a big kitchen, where the hostess prepares the food together with 2-3 assisting cooks. The number of guests are usually around 14-16 people and several small tables have been placed in different rooms. Couples are seated at tables for two.
The dinner usually consists of 9-10 courses of creative, homemade gourmet food and 3 different wines accompanying the delicious dishes. After dinner, coffee with cake is being served in a small library with soft jazz tunes as background music and the evening tends to be over around 11 pm.
“1.th” is the most unique dinner experience available in Copenhagen and should you have a chance to attend – go there. You will not regret it.
