Caribbian
Copenhagen
A vibrant restaurant and cocktail bar based around a Caribbean theme, 'Caribbian' brings a little Caribbean flavour to Copenhagen. The look of the place is unmistakable... palm fronds and a thatched roof cover the counter bar that stretches back from the street. Caribbean food and culture is a melting pot of East Indian, Portuguese, Spanish and American, with a taste--of course--of Africa. This heady mix of herbs, spices, exotic fruit and vegetables lends itself to a tasty and exciting menu.
One of the most famous Caribbean dishes sold here at Caribbian is Jamaican Jerk Chicken (DKK 135). The chicken is marinated in a traditional combination of herbs and spices. Try also the tasty dumplings, soups and fried dishes that the region is famous for.
In colonial times, Denmark had possession of three Caribbean islands: St. John, St. Croix. and St. Thomas. Some of that Danish influence is still apparent today in certain aspects of Caribbean cuisine. With a full range of coffees and drinks, Caribbian is a good place to stop off after walking through the nearby King's Garden. Alongside traditional coffees, there are ice-cold cocktails for summer.
If you'd like to pick up your drinks first, and walk afterwards, Caribbian offers that service! Just call up no later than one hour in advance, order your drinks, and pick them up. They'll be handed over to you in a cooler that you can take anywhere--to the beach, the gardens, or your hotel room.
The folks at Caribbian are big believers in the power of wheatgrass for a healthy diet, and so many of their cocktails can be ordered with wheatgrass. Try the Wheatgrass Mojito (DKK 104) for something different.
Happy hour drinks promotions are on every day until one hour before closing time. There is a well-ventilated smokers room for those who wish to smoke.
