Description
The tour begins at the arches of Rosenborg Palace, the main entrance located centrally in Copenhagen. You will walk through Rosenborg's gardens, where seasonal tulips and roses surround the pond bordering the fortress.
Construction of the palace started in the early 17th century under King Christian IV, known as 'the builder king.' During the walk, discover facts about his military campaigns and personal life.
Inside Rosenborg Palace, often called the 'rose' castle for its color, you will visit the ornately decorated royal rooms. The halls and bedrooms reflect the artistic standards of the period, with detailed ornamentation.
The visit includes the chamber housing the Danish Royal Family's jewels, featuring crowns, sceptres, tiaras, earrings, and necklaces from the 15th to 19th centuries. Many pieces are still used by Crown Princess Mary and Queen Margrethe II for official ceremonies.
