This hands-on workshop in Griffenfeldsgade 27, Nørrebro, introduces traditional Japanese marbled paper printmaking, suited for art enthusiasts and travelers.
Description
Marbled paper is an ancient printmaking craft practiced in Japan over 1,000 years ago and later introduced to Europe by travelers. The technique involves floating paint on a prepared water solution, made from carrageenan powder, then placing a paper sheet on top to lift a unique pattern. Each print is one of a kind, exploring unpredictable designs through different paint movements and colors.
During the workshop, you will learn how to use traditional tools and gestures to create your own marbled paper prints. After creating your prints, tea and coffee are served while the papers dry. The workshop lasts approximately 2 hours and takes place in the artist bookstore 'BLADR'. Small groups of three or individual participants are welcome. Evening classes are available at 17:00 during the summer months.

Important Information
- Book a few days before your return to allow prints to fully dry and be collected later.
