Wakeup Copenhagen, Bernstorffsgade
Copenhagen
Recensioner
Super helpful, friendly staff. Good location to walk everywhere. Soundproof rooms; the hotel was busy but I never heard a sound from the other rooms or the hallway. The hotel has both stairs and elevators. Everything is very clean. The shower has good water pressure. The bed is comfortable. The window actually opens. The room was super tiny! It’s great deal for Copenhagen though, and as long as you’re not traveling with a ton of luggage it’s worth it and I recommend it.
I wanted this to be a great hotel, but it was hands down the worst night of no sleep we’ve ever had. How does any hotel not have blackout blinds??? Especially when it’s light at 4:36 AM. It looked and felt like noon in our room. Not only is the curtain just normal fabric, the top has a gap and it doesn’t cover the sides of the window either. “Wake Up Copenhagen” is about right because you can’t sleep after 4:30 AM! The rooms look “cool”. The shower is round and the bathroom is all frosted glass… but when you are traveling with teens, non see-through walls are a must. The location was decent. Not great but ok. The service was excellent. I would only stay here again if it was winter. Honestly, do NOT stay here unless you like sleeping in the sun at 4:30 am. It is bad!
Good contactless hotel. The check-in process is simple and can be done independently, but staff are available and helpful if needed. Rooms are small, but quiet. I missed having a kettle in the room, as I had to go to reception every time I needed hot water. The curtain could be improved, as it doesn’t fully cover the window and lets light in. Overall, a good stay.
Overall, this hotel can be considered a good value for money option. The rooms are quite small, but they are sufficient and suitable for a single person. However, housekeeping is only provided upon request, which is a drawback. Having automatic cleaning at least every 2–3 days would create more confidence in hygiene. Breakfast is not very diverse, but it is adequate to satisfy basic needs. The location is not the very best, but most places can be reached within a 15–20 minute walk, which makes it acceptable overall. The staff are attentive and friendly, which positively affects the overall experience. However, there were some technical issues in the room; the hairdryer was not working and the drain was clogged. These issues were fixed quickly, which was appreciated. On the other hand, the room was not cleaned properly when I first checked in, which left a negative impression. The hotel also has a luggage storage room, but it is paid and relatively expensive. For a hotel of this level, charging extra for such a service does not feel very reasonable. In conclusion, it is an average hotel that can be preferred for a short stay without high expectations, mainly as a price-performance option.
