The most amazing 'home away from home' especially when traveling alone visiting beautiful Copenhagen. The most friendly and attentive staff in all departments. There is a roof top bar area (very popular) and many other wonderful areas to enjoy a meal or a Matteo 🥂 Bicycle to rent although the location is superb for walking to the center of the city. Comfortable room with Nespresso and little treats. A lovely robe and the most comfortable bed! Made up 'European style' which is how I love my bed to be.
Restaurant only. Served by the awesome Dardi whom was a top server, great for advices. The dishes was not just good. They tasted absolutely awesome. They sure deserve their Michelin 2025 sign. Having a lunch there with 2 kids was a wonderful experience, in which Dardi was sure for something
I'll start with an important note: we stayed in the residence and not directly in the standard hotel. That said the residence is extraordinary and beautiful. You cannot ask for a better location and the entire apartment is grand. The check-in is done through an app so you have no reason to go to the hotel if you don't need to. We however did decide to go to the hotel because we wanted to see and experience it as well. I told the front desk staff we were in the residence but wanted to check out the hotel. The reaction was cold and they seemed to almost be bothered, but then another, friendlier woman came by and offered us a quick a tour of the lobby and bar area. We explored the rooftop on our own and stayed for a drink in the bar. We decided to have dinner in the restaurant which was fine at best. After that we decided to just enjoy and stay in the residence and not go back to the main hotel again. Our apartment was cleaned and restocked daily and the housekeeping staff were very friendly. I understand they may be intentionally separate experiences, but given its the highest price room you can book, I would have expected more hospitality.
Hotel Sanders is a beautiful and charming property with a distinctive boutique atmosphere. The interiors are thoughtfully designed, the common spaces are elegant, and the hotel has a warm, residential feel that sets it apart from larger luxury brands. However, I was surprised by some aspects of the experience given its 5-star classification. Housekeeping and laundry appear to be outsourced, with housekeeping only available during a limited afternoon window and pressing/steaming services not readily available. Evening support also seemed limited, with no housekeeping and restricted room service beyond the front desk team. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in my room did not work during my entire stay. While a fan was provided, the issue was never resolved despite maintenance being notified. My room door was also stiff and difficult to open and close, and soundproofing was limited, making hallway noise quite noticeable. Service was polite when engaged, but lacked the warmth and proactive attentiveness I would expect from a luxury hotel. Overall, Hotel Sanders has tremendous charm and beautiful design, but there is a noticeable gap between the property's aesthetic appeal and the level of service and operational support expected from a 5-star experience.
My first visit and I could not have e chosen a better hotel. I would categorize the hotel as boutique, lovely building and the decoration and Facilities are very high end. Location is perfect for access to the main square, shopping, dining and the waterways. The hotel and team at Hotel Sanders certainly deserve their Michelin Key.
