Founded by Mette Groth, By Groth seeks to explore the boundaries of curiosity and creativity. With over 15 years since its inception, and a strong reputation behind it, By Groth still manages to push the envelope.
Today, By Groth employs about 10 people and is led by Managing Director Marianne Skovgaard. The collections are available in over 200 stores worldwide, and the brand has been nominated a 'Gazelle Company' by Danish financial daily Borsen. But the essence of the company has not changed since it was founded in 1995. Mette Groth was working as a designer having earned her degree in fashion design when she began thinking about starting her own label. She noticed a hole in the market for the kind of bold designs she was creating and decided to branch out on her own.
It was her brother Mik who encouraged her to make the leap, and together with her other brother the three launched By Groth. Incredibly, this internationally renowned brand began in Mette's Copenhagen apartment.
The By Groth collection is aimed at strong, feminine women and features high quality construction, fresh ideas, and lots of details. Every single style is made from unique fabrics, colors and patterns, with surprising elements like contrasting colors or unusual pattern and detail combinations.
By Groth is available in number of fashion shops in Copenhagen. If you'd like to see what the brand is about, or have heard of it and want to buy some from the source, visit the stores below.
