It was originally a monastery, built in the 13th century. The monastery closed in scandal as the monks were revealed to have a sensuous double life that they lived in tunnels under the monastery.
The cellar of the cafe itself was at the centre of another scandal as a government spying post was discovered there in the 60s.
Nowadays you can sit and enjoy the surroundings with a coffee and a snack. Make sure to get a photo of the sculpture by Soren Georg Jensen, son of the famous Danish silversmith Georg Jensen.
