Capsule Hotel Nyhavn63
Copenhagen
Reviews
I recently stayed at Nyhavn 63C Hotel and had a very pleasant experience overall. The location is undoubtedly the biggest highlight of this property. Situated right in the heart of Nyhavn, it offers immediate access to the famous canal, colorful waterfront buildings, restaurants, and attractions. It is also conveniently close to the metro station and within easy walking distance of Strøget, making it an excellent base for exploring Copenhagen. I had the opportunity to try both the capsule accommodation and a private room. The capsules are quite small, as expected, but still manageable for short stays. The lighting inside is relatively dim, and the air ventilation could be improved, but they provide a practical and affordable option in a prime location. The private room was a much more comfortable experience. It was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with multiple power sockets that made charging devices easy. Complimentary shower gel and shampoo were also provided. The shared bathrooms were consistently clean and equipped with hairdryers, which was appreciated. Guests can also enjoy free coffee at the bar on the ground floor. Another useful feature is the locker rental service, which is convenient for storing luggage securely before check-in, after check-out, or while exploring the city. Finally, the staff were friendly, helpful, and supportive throughout my stay. Special thanks to Ms. Sabina for her excellent service, hospitality, and willingness to assist whenever needed. Combined with its unbeatable location and comfortable facilities, Nyhavn 63C Hotel is a solid choice for visitors looking to experience Copenhagen from the heart of the city.
#throwback2023 Stayed here because Copenhagen apparently decided personal space is a luxury item and pricing is a competitive sport. Nyhavn outside looks like a postcard, 17th century canal houses, colorful facades, tourists taking the same photo every 3 seconds. Inside though, it is more “human storage optimization experiment.” The capsule pod itself does the job. You can sleep, you can breathe, and if you are lucky, you can forget you are sharing a large room with what feels like an entire European backpacking alliance. Privacy is more of a philosophical concept than a physical one. Location is absurdly good. You step out and you are basically already in one of the most expensive districts in one of the most expensive cities in Europe. Your wallet feels lighter just by walking past a café. Bathrooms though… this is where reality checks in. A handful of shower stalls servicing a full room of capsules creates a morning queue that feels like a social experiment on patience, coordination, and regretful life choices. Overall, it is the classic tradeoff. Prime Nyhavn location, budget survival capsule experience, and the quiet realization that in Copenhagen, even your sleep is living in premium real estate whether you like it or not.
I guess it was ok. The location was the main reason we picked this hostel. I wouldn’t return however. Our capsule was clean as were the bathrooms, but the shower nozzles were so strong and strange, most of the bathrooms didn’t even have hooks to hang your clothing items or a bag, which was ridiculous and there was no counter space at the sinks. There were only shoe racks in the general public space not even some tables or some chairs to put some items on and more mirrors and hooks were needed. Glad it was cheap I guess.
I booked a room, but it was not as advertised. On the website it shows rooms with at least some space. The room I was in was the same width as the bed, with only enough space for the door to open at the end. I had to shut my luggage on the floor in order to open the door. I don’t know how two people’s luggage would fit. The room was also next to the stairwell and with the thin walls, I heard every person that came and went through the night. As well as the conversations through the walls. Be aware luggage storage is 160dkk for 24 hours. The next shortest time available is 6 hours, with no in between. So if you are out for the day it costs a lot. Positives: the location is excellent, everything was clean and the staff were nice. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you value sleep. If that’s not an issue then the location is fantastic.
