I had to travel to Copenhagen for amazing Southern barbecue, but hey… I’m hygge with it. Warpigs was a battle for taste - and my mouth won. Every time. The meats were succulent and well-seasoned, but the accoutrements really knocked it out of the Danish park. The mac and cheese was melting off my fork, and the pickles were to die for. Warpigs is an unassuming atmosphere in a hip locale of Copenhagen. A classic gastropub with great beers on draft and a friendly staff attending to your needs. Easy parking as well, and a short walk to lots of other stuff. If you love barbecue, you’ll find peace at Warpigs.
We arrived at 20h00 and it was raining so the place was packed and we needed a table for 9 people. Surprisingly, we did not have to wait very long before a table opened up. The brisket was juicy and tender and very filling. Really enjoyed it.
Just for some context, I'm from America and I have eaten a lot of southern BBQ in my life. I wanted to try Warpigs so I came here. There is plenty of seating but the line to order food is so long and slow. They only process one person at a time and everyone is ordering for a large party. So they will take the order and cut all the meat before moving on to the next person. So expect to wait a while. The nice thing is that there is a bar right there to keep yourself busy in line. I ordered the brisket, spare ribs, pulled pork, beans, and mac and cheese. Overall the meal was very good and enjoyable. My one gripe is that the brisket was so overly salted that I couldn't finish it. I think the atmosphere is great though to hangout with a large group.
BBQ Worth Crossing an Ocean For If you’re in Copenhagen and love authentic Texas-style BBQ paired with world-class craft beer, Warpigs Brewpub is an absolute must-visit. The moment you walk in, the aroma of slow-smoked meats tells you you’re in for something special. We shared the Texas Tray with brisket, pork ribs, pulled pork, sausage, wings, pickles, and house-made sauces. Every bite was packed with deep smoky flavor. The brisket was beautifully tender with a perfect bark, the ribs fell cleanly off the bone, and the sausage was juicy with just the right snap. The craft beer selection is equally impressive, with an outstanding lineup brewed in collaboration with Mikkeller. We enjoyed two different beers that paired perfectly with the rich BBQ, making the entire experience even better. What really stood out was the atmosphere casual, energetic, and full of people enjoying great food. Watching the pitmasters slice brisket fresh to order added to the authenticity. The outdoor seating was perfect on a sunny Copenhagen afternoon, and the staff were friendly, efficient, and passionate about what they serve. If you appreciate great BBQ, exceptional beer, and an unforgettable dining experience, WARPIGS deserves a place at the top of your Copenhagen food list. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back.
Out in White Meat City, this unassuming place doesn’t look like anything special. However, half brewery and half butchery this place is great with canteen style picnic tables lining up along the room and outside in the car pack. Combining Danish aesthetics and smorresbrod concepts with Texan BBQ, the sharing trays were great. The pulled port was particularly delicious and the sides are also solid. With a variety of sauces on hand, and a great weird ambiance it’s worth a visit!
