Reviews
Overall, our stay was okay, but there are definitely areas that could be improved. The room was basic, but it was a good size and had enough space for a comfortable four-night stay. The location was also convenient, not right in the city center, but within walking distance of many attractions, the Central Station, and a supermarket was just downstairs, which was very handy. The staff were friendly, and thanks to our Strawberry membership we were able to check in early, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, housekeeping was disappointing. During our four-night stay, the room wasn't serviced even once. At one point we were left with dirty towels, and the room started to feel untidy, which isn't what you expect when staying several nights. Another downside was the luggage storage. After checking out, we left our suitcases in the hotel's storage room, but it didn't feel secure at all. The room was heavily used by guests, and it seemed that anyone who asked at reception could get the key and access it. While nothing happened to our belongings, it didn't inspire much confidence. Overall, the hotel has a good location, decent-sized rooms, and friendly staff, but the lack of housekeeping and the insecure luggage storage made the experience less enjoyable.
We had an amazing stay at Comfort Hotel Vesterbro and would absolutely stay here again. We stayed in a family room that comfortably slept four people. As someone from California who is used to larger spaces, it felt a little tight at first, but it was completely manageable and worked well for our week-long stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and the window opened, which provided great airflow. The hotel staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating. Anytime we needed anything—extra blankets, pillows, towels, or other items—they happily provided it with no questions asked. There is also a laundry room on the first floor, which was very convenient during a longer trip. Rooms are cleaned every four days. I know that may be a drawback for some guests, but it wasn't an issue for us. When we needed fresh towels or trash removed, we simply placed them outside the room and staff quickly replaced the towels and took care of the trash. The included breakfast was outstanding. There was a huge variety of options, including gluten-free and lactose-free choices, and it was more than enough to keep us full for a day of sightseeing. The breakfast area was clean, well-stocked, and efficiently managed. The location was fantastic—clean, friendly, and right in the heart of Copenhagen, making it easy to explore the city throughout our stay. I can't recommend this hotel enough. Five stars all around, and if we return to Copenhagen someday, we'll definitely stay here again.
We started our trip to Copenhagen with a 3 night stay here before going to another hotel. We were pleased with this hotel and its amenities. It has a nice gym for guest use. And the breakfast each morning is far superior to what you’d find at a Choice brand in the U.S. Healthy options and plenty of choice. Staff at the front desk was friendly. This hotel was solid and it’s very close to the central train station.
Stayed here in December to visit Tivoli and Copenhagn for Christmas. Stayed in a comfort double with my 7 year old. We were in a room overlooking the restaurant area. When windows closed couldnt hear a thing from outside. Very cosy. Warm, safe and very close to all attractions. We walked to everything. Would stay here again when we return to Copenhagen. The city is amazing! Also very child friendly. Didnt eat breakfast here but went to the Lidl next door for snacks and there are lots of cafes and restaurants around the area. Be careful in the rooms there is a small step leading to the bathroom and I stumped and possibly broke my toe on the first night. Didnt stop me ice skating though ;) x
This is a hotel where you need to temper expectations with the reality of European hotels and location. The pros: The location is excellent—five minute walk from Copenhagen main train station and Tivoli Gardens, and a bus stop is just outside the door. Extra credit for being next door to a Lidl for shopping needs. All the staff we interacted with (front desk and breakfast) were exceptionally friendly, making us feel welcome. The room was small, but that’s not surprising at this price point in Europe. Breakfast has a good selection of tasty dishes (except the scrambled eggs—not sure what went wrong there). The cons: Firstly, the beds take the European “firm mattress” concept and morph it into something more like a Dantean circle of Hades. It is impossible to sleep on a two-inch mattress and wake up feeling refreshed. Secondly, the shower is actually dangerous. Getting in requires stepping over a 75cm ledge into a tub that is shaped like a V, with no non-slip flooring. There is no shower curtain or door—only a glass ledge covering only half the shower. Water ends up everywhere, and trying to maintain balance is seriously a frightening experience. Overall: Five for location and staff, one for bed, negative numbers for the shower. Overall, a three.
