Reviews
This place was so nice! The hotel is generous with toiletries, tea, coffee, slippers, toothpaste tabs/toothbrush. The room is quite cosy (small) but fit our needs for a 4 night stay. They stored our bags while we visited the city before our flight that evening. The front desk staff on June 24 went above and beyond when we had an issue assisting us with phone calls, helping bring our bags back up the stairs and giving us a cool glass of water. This is a great neighborhood as well and seems everyone knows eveyrone.
This hotel has some great qualities. It has a nice vibe and the rooms are decorated beautifully. I loved having a tea kettle and coffee packets and real milk in the room. The gym that guests have free access to is great. The hotel also has some downfalls. If you are on the 5th floor, it is hot (and this was when the high in Copenhagen was around 60F). Our room, which faced the street, had only one tiny window and no air flow. It was also very loud with the window open. It was a no-win situation. My final complaint would be that the breakfast, while nice, was very expensive. You would be much better off going to your closest Grod.
Very nice hotel with a good central location. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and a good size. Staff are very friendly. The breakfasts are tasty with gluten free and vegan options. I had a basic room and felt that was good enough for 1! I think the balconies might be nice if it is very hot.
The hotel is in a good location for exploring major sights of Copenhagen. The team working there are great. Friendly and approachable. Breakfast choice was excellent and again the team were great. Our room needs refreshing. On the practical note, there's little storage for clothes in the bedroom but it was the bathroom that really didn't work functionally for us. There's no shelving to use for personal toiletries and having a small bath in the bathroom meant a lack of space. Our personal taste would be not to have a bath but a good sized shower with a screen not a curtain to contain the water and some shelving for our own toiletries.
I'm just back from 3 nights staying at 66 Guldsmeden and I had a great stay. The room was characterful, clean and comfortable. I especially loved all of the toiletries provided. I was facing the main street but still it was quiet at night. The location was perfect for the restaurants and cafés of the meat packing district and on Vaernedamsvej, also for walking down to Frederiksberg (a lovely walk and area). It was also only a 12-15 minute walk to the central station and Tivoli. It's a longer walk to the other gardens, the castle, the palaces, main shopping streets, waterfront spots etc, so be prepared for that. It's not a location that gives you quick and easy access to all areas of the city. Still; I really liked the feel of the area and the food options nearby.
