Tante T was voted Copenhagen’s favorite tea room in 2007, and for good reason. Founded by a brother and sister in 2003, Tante T first began as a small market and internet based tea shop. It has since progressed to the quaint little tea room that can be found on Viktoriagade 6.
Available in the tea room are all the usual suspects. A massive range of teas are on offer by the pot, as are coffees and cakes, such as cookies, biscuit cake, fruit cakes and brownies. Teas include the more common English breakfast, Green tea and Oolong, but these sit alongside the less common Jasmin Lily, Chinese Fortune Ball as well as a host of organic teas.
Available in the shop are all the necessary bits and pieces needed to make your own tea room at home! Tea eggs, timers and even bags for mixing your own blends can be purchased from both the shop and online.
The interior of the tea room is much as you would expect of a typical Danish grandmother. The furniture is antiquated and the walls and adornments pastel colored, although this serves a feeling of nostalgia to the venue, and complements the slow pace and relaxed atmosphere.
Due to the great service, prices, and products on offer, the only downside is Tante T’s popularity. Should you wish to pay a pit-stop during peak times, it may be advisable to make a reservation in advance.
